From Bussi Island to a Global Mission
In January 2020, a team from CCPhilly traveled to Uganda on a mission outreach. After landing in Entebbe, they crossed Lake Victoria by boat to reach the islands — and stepped onto Bussi.
The community welcomed Nose Poliard with a new name: Mukisa, meaning Blessing. What the team found was fertile land with no clinic, no solid school, and families ready to work. The needs were clear, and so was the calling.
Out of that assessment grew a goat farm — the founding business of Golden Herd Mukisa — and a model of sustainable, faith-rooted community development that continues to expand today.
